The Story Behind the Pictures
This Tempe loft offered plenty of challenges with its 15-foot high ceilings, gymnasium-like space, poor acoustics, overdone track lighting, ill defined living spaces, non-functional window treatments, and sterile bathrooms.
We used a variety of paint colors to define the various living spaces as well as warm up the sterile environment. An acoustical wall treatment was applied from floor to ceiling on the TV wall for sound control with the speakers installed behind the acoustical covering to maintain a sleek, de-cluttered look.
Removing the excess heads from the track lighting, and repositioning the remaining ones to focus on furniture groupings and artwork, further defines the spaces. The pool table, placed in the center of the room, allows for ease of play and circulation around it. Automated window shades, positioned within the window frames, provide for privacy, sound, and light control.
